People are developing unhealthy relationships with their devices. In 2018, adults in the U.S. were expected to spend an average of 3 hours and 35 minutes per day on mobile devices (Emarketer 2018).

According to a Pew survey, the median American checks their smartphone every 4.3 minutes and nearly 40% of people ages 18 to 29 are online almost every waking minute.
